One tool, three jobs
Pick the plan built for how you run.
Stop a missed MOT voiding your insurance
Add your vehicles by registration. We pull tax and MOT from DVLA, show a red, amber and green list, and email you before anything runs out. Your certificates and V5C sit in one place. The free gov.uk reminder tells you once. We keep chasing until you have booked it in.
Prove your O-licence compliance, not just remember it
Track PMI safety inspections on your 6 to 13 week cycle alongside HGV and trailer annual tests, pulled automatically from the DVSA operator test history. Add your transport manager and workshop, escalate overdue inspections, and export a clean audit pack with certificates attached. Trailers included.
Win back every booking before the customer goes elsewhere
Load your customers and their vehicles. We watch every MOT, tax and service date from DVLA and DVSA, then contact the customer ahead of time, branded as your garage, with a one-tap way to book back in with you. Your name on the message, replies come to you. Around 28% of cars run their MOT late, and the booking goes to whoever reminds first.
Everything your fleet needs to stay legal
One screen that turns red before anything goes out of date.
Automatic DVLA lookups
Type a reg, and MOTping fills in the make, MOT expiry and tax due date from official DVLA and DVSA data โ then keeps it current.
HGV & trailer tests โ checked for you
The bit other apps make you type in by hand. MOTping checks HGV annual test and trailer test dates straight from DVSA's heavy-vehicle records, by reg or trailer number, and HGV road tax from DVLA.
PMI scheduling
Set your safety-inspection interval (6โ13 weeks) to match your O-licence. We calculate every next PMI date and warn you early.
Email + SMS reminders
Choose how far ahead you want warning. Overdue items keep nagging until they're cleared. No more diary, no more sticky notes.
Document vault
Keep the MOT certificate, V5C logbook, PMI reports and invoices attached to each vehicle, ready for a roadside check or an audit.
Compliance calendar
See the whole fleet's deadlines on one clean month view, colour-coded so the next thing due is impossible to miss.
Book it in
One click to send a booking request to your garage or test station, with the vehicle and date already filled in.
Red / amber / green
A traffic-light dashboard so anyone in the office can see at a glance what needs doing this week.
Audit-ready exports
Export your fleet and its dates for your transport manager, your insurer or a DVSA audit in seconds.
The cost of one missed date
An out-of-date MOT can void your insurance. Untaxed vehicles draw an ยฃ80โยฃ1,000 penalty and clamping. A missed HGV inspection can cost your O-licence. MOTping costs less than one coffee a week.
Protect my fleetQuestions, answered
Where does MOTping get my MOT and tax dates?
Directly from the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and the DVSA MOT history service. Type the registration and the dates appear, then we keep them updated automatically.
Does it handle HGVs and trailers?
Yes โ and this is what sets MOTping apart. HGV annual test and trailer test dates are checked automatically against DVSA's heavy-vehicle test records (by registration or trailer number), HGV road tax comes from DVLA, and PMI intervals are tracked too. Nothing to type in by hand.
What is a PMI?
A Preventive Maintenance Inspection โ the regular safety inspection an operator-licence holder commits to, usually every 6 to 13 weeks. Set your interval and last date; MOTping works out the rest.
How am I reminded?
Email on every plan, plus SMS on Fleet and Operator. You decide how many days' notice you want, and overdue items keep surfacing.
Can I store documents?
Yes โ attach MOT certificates, the V5C, PMI reports and invoices to each vehicle so they're ready for a roadside stop or an audit.
